What's most important?
What's inside?

When you're done, answer the following question on your blog:
PART ONE
Make an analogy about computers. An analogy is a way to compare two very different things and show how they are actually similar in certain ways.
Here's an example: Your blood vessels and veins are like the highways of a country. Blood cells are the cars and the heart is the airport.
Think of examples for a computer. For this part, DO NOT use the human body (you'll do that in part two. Post your analogies as a comment below.
This link will help.
What's the CPU?
What's the RAM?
What's the Power Supply?
What's the difference between the different kinds of 'memory'?
PART TWO
Label the following diagram as if the human body is a computer. (You can find your own diagram if you like).
It won't be perfect, but see how many you can fill in.

A CPU is like a kitchen at a restaurant, it's the brain. If there's no kitchen at a restaurant, it won't be called a restaurant. The processor is a chef that makes the food, the faster the chef, the faster the food will be ready, a dual-processor is like having two chefs, which means even faster. The RAM is like the counter or table where the chefs work. The more space, the easier (faster) the chef can work, if the table is too chaotic, it will be harder (slows down the speed) for the chefs to work. The hardrive is like the cupboard or the fridge, if it's too full, old stuff needs to be thrown out to make space for new ones.
Analogy: Computers and Class Rooms
1. The motherboard-In the classroom, the teacher is effectively the motherboard of the teacher because the teacher does everything in the class to make the class function.
2. CPU-The students, because when the teacher gives them information, the students have to process them.
3. RAM-The whiteboard, during every class it is used and at the end, it is wiped just like when the computer turns off.
4. Video Card-The lights and projector of the class because it lets the class see the lessons.
5. Power Supply-The power supply is the generator of the school
6. Hard Drive-The cabinets where all the teacher's papers are stored as they don't disappear.
7. Optical Disk Drive-The e-mails and letters the teacher gets simulate the drives that gets inserted into the computer.
PART ONE:
CPU and Hardware
These two computer parts may look very different, but they actually pretty much function the same way. The CPU Is basically the brain of the computer whereas Hardware is used to store information that can be obtained. Their similarities are that they both store information required for the computer and stays in whatever condition the computer was at.
PART TWO:
The brain of the computer: CPU
The heart of the computer: Motherboard
The stomach of the computer: Power Supply
The mouth of the computer: Optical Drive
Let's have a classroom as the analogy. Firstly, when you enter the classroom and sit down on the desk, it's like turning a computer on. You're like the brain of the computer. RAM is like the desk of the classroom, the bigger the desk, the more things you can have open and you will be able to work faster because you can keep things organized like the RAM. The hard disk drive that can be found in the computer is like the drawers in the classroom, it holds all of the informations. The power supply in the computer is like the air-conditioner in a classroom.
A motherboard is kind of like the Earth's crust because Earth would not be able to support life or maintain its shape without it. A hard drive is like a file cabinet because it stores all the important information. A video card would be like movie theatre because it is responsible for showing visuals. I like to think of the CPU as the smartest computer nerd in the world because it processes a lot of data and you will need a lot brainpower to do that. The power supply is probably like the electric company that supports an entire city. RAM is probably like a classroom whiteboard because it retains the information you have just wrote but that info will not stay up there forever.
First of all, we need to start with the one that control and be the brain of computer. CPU is the one that control it, cpu also the most important element of a computer system. The example of CPU is in CAR, CPU is the machine that control the computer. RAM is a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly ram is a device like printers. RAM can also be use as main memory ghat available to programs. The Power Supply on computer is in your PC and it's the main AC too.
When talking about computers, we can understand it a bit better by comparing computers to a city. The motherboard of the city is the government building since the building holds the people that runs the city just like the motherboard running the computer. The CPU could be the science laboratory found in cities since the CPU processes information just like the scientists in laboratories processing different information in the city. The RAM could be the workplaces available in the city so jobs are kind of similar to the different jobs available in the city that the citizens can do. The video card can be the TV or Radio stations since the TV and Radio stations would broadcast messages or information throughout the city just like the video card that broadcast images to the computer monitor. The power supply of a computer can be the power plant since the power plant provides electricity to the city just like the power supply provides power to the computer. The hard disk drive could be the library of a city since the hard disk drive holds information that the computer will use just like the library holding all sorts of information for the city to use.
So a computer is like our school. The motherboard are the IT department and the messengers that send messages around the school because everyone is connected through them and based on top of them. The CPU is of course Mr. John McBride, because he is the one who makes the big decisions and controls the flow of things. The video card are the lontars and blogs that we have because they show the public what our school is like. The power supply is of course a power supply. The harddisk drive is the photography department, because they store the things that happen within pictures that will last for a very long time. Finally, the RAM are like teachers, who temporarily manage the programs, students for the day, and when the students leave or are shut off, the teachers are free and empty again.
Computers can be an analogy to cars, they are similar in certain ways.
The Engine of the car is like the CPU of the computers, it helps car to move/work.
The battery and the fuel of the car is like the Power Supply in the computers, it gives the energy to function the car.
The RAM is like the stick shift in the car, it allows car to go fast or slow depending on the level. Same as RAM, computer with higher RAM will work much faster. But RAM isn’t the thing that we can change whenever we want.
the mouth would be the monitor, because it gives output, like a mouth, i was going to say eyes, but the monitor doesn't give the cpu information.
the mouse would be like a hand, where it's moveable and can grab text on the screen and give info to the cpu.
the heart, it would be the internal battery of the computer. the actual electricity comming from the wall plug would be equal to a human's source of oxygen.
the liver? filters out garbage, so that would be the computers anti-virus program :)
the lungs, yes, i agree would be the fan. the fan helps the computer to breathe and not overheat.
not sure about the computers ears, that would be the microphone, the microphone picks up sounds and sends to cpu
our memories are our computers filing system :)
the scanner can be an eye, as it sees the document and transfers it to the cpu.
the fax, printer is also it's mouth. spitting out stuff :)
the modem, is the best friend, that communicates between you and someone else (chatroom, website etc).
