Can we trust anyone anymore?

We've become a society that has almost forgotten about privacy. As much as we try to educate ourselves and each other about the importance of keeping our personal data safe, it seems like hacking and identity theft are becoming more and more common. Take a look at the following article and think about a personal experience you have (or someone you know has) experienced. Post about it on your blog.

How early is too early?

Take a look at this TED Talk to see one perspective on how babies acquire language and how giving a baby a computer might actually slow down their development.

When do you think kids should start using technology? Create a post on your blog examining the pros and cons of starting early. Then, come to a conclusion.

ITGS Chapter 3.1 - Hardware

Here I've embedded the Hardware information that is required for IT. Please open it up in a new window and download a copy for yourself. (Don't worry, I'm getting a better scan of it soon).

Please read page 29-36 for tomorrow's class and we'll talk more about the specifics then.

Embedding Google Docs in your Blog

Today we're going to learn how to embed Google Docs into your Wordpress blog. Our final result will look something like what you see below (using our Collaborative Vocabulary document as an example).

I'd like you to practice by embedding your Criterion A report on your blog (it's okay if it's not quite finished yet, just get something up there)

1) Publish your Google Doc to the Web

2) Copy the Embed Code

3) Make a new post and paste the Embed Code into the HTML tab

4) Click on Visual once and then back to HTML if you want to adjust the Width and Height.

5) Tag and Categorize your post and Publish!

More TED!

Here's one you guys can analyze with the Triangle quite easily. Post a response on your blog (include the link to this video, so people know what you're responding to).

Secondly, I realize that a lot of 'predicting' we do about the future seems to be cynical, negative, and sort of depressing. Let's look at the other side. In the same post on your blog, tell me if you think the future will more more utopian ('good') or dystopian ('bad').
