How is cooking a pizza the same as a computer?

Think about what you have to do (or your maid has to do) when it comes time to prepare a meal. Let's assume you already have all the ingredients for a pizza. What are the steps required to turn those ingredients into a mouthwatering, delicious meal?

Think of it in these terms:

data > input > processing > output

What is the 'data'? What do we use to 'input'? How is it 'processed' and what is the final 'output'?

Then try to relate it to this drawing:

How is creating a pizza similar to what you see in the diagram? What are all the types of Input Devices and Output devices you can think of? Post them on your blog. Ie:

Input Devices: mouse, keyboard,...

Output Devices: monitor, speakers,...

Go HERE for some ideas, but there are many many more.

Finally, your homework is to research the following acronyms and be prepared to explain what their meaning is for Wednesday:

OCR
MICR
OMR
EPOS
EFTPOS
ATM
