How early is too early?

Take a look at this TED Talk to see one perspective on how babies acquire language and how giving a baby a computer might actually slow down their development.

I think it is true that many people teach language to their babies since their early age. At least that is what happened to me and the people around me. We are taught different languages, Indonesian, Chinese, or tribal Chinese languages at home and english at school. And I agree with the fact that as we grow up, our abilities in learning a language decreases. For example in my case, I used Indonesian as my first language that was taught by my parents. Indonesian became the language I speak and write fluently in. Then comes Chinese. My grandmas both taught me and I spent several years taking Chinese lessons, but I stopped and forgot everything. So continuing the language we've learned really does matter. And from first grade to 8th grade, I visited an English speaking school and because I was taught English since the age of 7 and continued it, English naturally flows in me as my second language. Then I moved to the German school, and I was 13 at that time. I learned how to speak German and all subjects were taught in it yet still it is not as fluent as my English. My ability has obviously decreased. I agree that it is a good idea to fill in a child's early age with many language as possible, but I disagree if they have to take many lessons to fulfill it. Because I know a lot of little kids who have to go to lessons afters school until night time, and they are just lack of their childhood fun times. We also have to remember that they are children who deserves to enjoy their childhood.
